Our next 3 trips are planned for May, June & July 2026. The main issue is money, we need to continually raise funds as we intend to keep making trips as long as needed and possible. The cost of taking a vehicle out with two drivers getting them home is around £1200 with the bulk of that being fuel and the ferry crossing.
May 2026 – Destination Lutsk taking mainly medical aid for distribution by the national charity Dobra Sprava we have incubators and respirators plus a vast range of medical supplies and equipment.
June 2026 – Destination Lutsk taking more medical aid.
July 2026 – Destination Odesa taking humanitarian aid for distribution in Odesa by the local charity Orchid which supports displaced children and families.
We have funded and delivered 5 ambulances and 3 other vehicles, which the Ukrainians are very grateful for, however the large fund raising needed for the vehicle purchases reduced the frequency of aid runs. We now have our own van which returns to the UK.
Items we currently need for the next trip?
There is an ever changing need as to what is needed based on what has been donated and what we are asked to resource. The most needed items are currently:
Anything Medical including large waterproof plasters, painkillers including Babies and Children’s. Men’s, Women’s, Children’s and Babies hygiene items. Women’s sanitary items. Children and babies nappies and clothing.
How much do we need to raise?
For the next 3 trips we would expect our costs to be c£3,600 to £4,000 although the rising cost of diesel will likely increase this figure.
